I am planning for 4 or more a side from those below plus anyone else who fancies a game, we will have to share the troops a bit more. Quinton D Trevor A Greg C James W Martin H Ben C Pete M Ade M
Please be there for 10:00 to aim for a 10:30 start.
Quinton and myself will be there after about 9:00 to set up, we are looking at a 16 or 20 foot table, help would be appreciated. I still not decided what battle - no rush!
John is dropping in to open bar 12:00 to 1:00.
If you fancy a beer/curry after let me know.

Martin
Thanks, I think the game went pretty well considering we were not well versed with the rules - I think they need a bit of practice.
In the actual battle the Prussians suffered a very heavy defeat, which is really how I see how the game would have eventually played out, as the Prussians were running out of infantry.
That said, I do not see how the Prussians could win with the Austrian's numbers advantage, unless they got the drop on the open flank. - Infantry - Prussians 19,500; Austrians 30,000 (only about 20,000 used) - Cavalry - Prussians 14,000; Austrians 17,700 - Heavy guns - Prussians 28; Austrians 60 (only 30 used)
I think where in the game the Prussians could have made an impact was with the grenadiers (4 battalions of elites) on the left flank. If they had made a determined attack, rather than being distracted by the grenz in the village they could have caused problems, particularly after the Prussian hussars' run of dice, which hammered their Austrian counterparts cleared the way for them.
Thanks to those of you who turned up, it was am enjoyable day. If any of you fancy trying a unit or two let me know, there are a lot of small states in the Imperialist army.

Hi all,
Having seen some of the photos and reading the accounts of what happened, I'm very sorry and jealous that I missed it! Well done Steve!

Thanks Steve. I thoroughly enjoyed the game. As Martin says, it is a real spectacle. I wouldn't mind doing a few units.

I could organise another one in a few months time if anyone is interested - I think 3 or possibly 4 players per side on a 16' board is about right?
We could probably do with playing a bit longer.........but we might be quicker next time.
Last game I was concerned that we had 8 players (list above), and there would not be enough troops to go around, so I turned away some non-club members. Only 4 of 8 actually turned up - if you say you are going to play, please either turn up, or at least give notice in advance that you cannot make it so that someone else has the chance to step in.
If you are interested let me know.
