Hi Martin, perfect, thanks!
Down to game details (as per league rules!), I am comfortable at 800pts (as before). I wont have any armour over 7, I promise!
Can you bring terrain as before?
Looking forward to it.

:-) Cheers, see you there. No Problem. I'll bring some terrain.
I was looking at the lists to find ways to make my Germans more appealing - not necessarily better, I just don't enjoy them much. I just looked up my Puma (as yet unpainted) and it's 8+.. damn!

Nick, I'm sure your opponents would be accomodating re learning the rules. If you are free, Im planning on playing this Tuesday if you want to pop down and get a grib with the rules via the powers of observation? I'm also sure someone will lend you a force if you ask nicely until yours is ready! What nation do you have unpainted? I'm playing Pike & Shotte with Trev on Tuesday, but I'll see if I can get a quick look I did play a game with Scrivs last year, so have a pretty good idea of the basics (40k 3rd ed?)... I just need to read the rules properly (which I got for my birthday). It will be Ruskies for me, although they are really mid-war (and Winter War when I get my KS goodies) rather than 1944... not many differences with Mother Russia though

I just looked up my Puma (as yet unpainted) and it's 8+.. damn! 8+ is ok you just need to notify your opponent (so he can paint an AT gun!) In other news, I now have a platoon of Warlord British assembled, primed, base-coated and washed. I then realised that this is my seventh platoon of 28mm British / Commonwealth Infantry. That is wrong!

Martin, the Puma is fine if you want to field it.

Now there are some pro's and cons to this. The figures are a pain in the arse to assemble and look bloody awful before they are painted, but, they paint up really easily and look quite good when they are finished. More images, commentary and a painting guide over at the Scrivsland blog

Hi Martin ,
hope you made it home and have got your car sorted ok.
Thanks for the game last night, another interesting scenario well played out. I'm glad we put it down as a practice game as I remembered this morning that we didnt modify the 'to hit' score required based on the number of pins- therefore I think my guys woudl have found it harder to hit your squads post the friendly-fire incident with the aircraft.
Which reminds me, I need to get some British Airmen as clearly the Americans would rather bomb my own troops than the Germans!
Cheers again Phil

Had a good game against Gedders too. He also suffered from firing with too many pin modifiers on them.
I think once you have three pins the only viable orders are Run (away), Rally or Down.
I'll get a report up on the blog later.

Hi Chaps
Both myself and the Bro are interested in joining this, unless it's too late. I've got German Grenadiers and Phils has same and British paras.
I can next come down on Tuesday 28th

Such a shame we had to call an early halt to the game.. it was interesting and I'd like to have seen how it turned out. Funny you mentioned the pin modifiers.. I did remember at one point .. but then forgot when it mattered :-) I didn't do a huge amount of shooting anyway. Personally Im more than happy for you to continue fielding US Air support whenever we play! The car was okay going home and has been fine today.. I've had some advice that it might be the signs of something expensive though.. so I've already started shopping (we were thinking of swapping it anyway)

Sounds like an idea Martin!
We'll have to arrange a re-match soon.
Mick- great news, its good that you have the axis/allied split as its nice and even/balanced. Happy to have a game against your Germans though I'm not sure yet if I can do the 28th. If you are still looking for a game next week, I may know more then- just leave your FoW French Dice at home!

Scrivs, great battle report, looked a cracking game. Bolt Action is facilitating some good games at the moment and I don't think I've seen one game yet where when player has been comprehensively beaten by the opposing player.
