I have created this board so we can bounce some ideas about. I think that the six of us coukd make a good start on a campaign / league
800pt lists for North West Europe or Eastern Front 1944 No vehicle flame throwers Medics cannot fire the machine gun in a transport that they are carried in If you are using a vehicle over armour 7 then you must notify your opponent when you arrange the game. Figures must be painted with at least a basecoat Players to agree on the size of the game - between 500pts and 1000pts when they arrange the game Set up table before rolling the mission Try to play at least one game per month 3pts for a win, 1pt for a draw, 0pts for losing. Make a note of the units killed as per the rules and we will use this as a 'goal differece'. If you kill xx units get +1 bonus point. Players so far
Scrivs - British Phil - United States Mog or Fred - Soviets Mog or Fred, Rich & Gedders - German
So 3 Allies and 3 Axis would mean we could have three rounds with each Allied player getting to play each Axis player and see who does the best
Interested in your ideas

Definately up for this, had a great game last night.
Are infantry flame throwers inlcuded in the ban? Whilst I do not own one, I do not see them as OP so should be included.
Any rules on painted figs only? Personally this doesnt bother me but I know some people prefer painted minis.
As most of us are not fully fluid with the rules yet and to ensure we complete games as we improve our working knowledge of the rules, we could do escalation games- say 600/800/1000? Again, I'm not terribly fussed, just putting it down as you asked for ideas!

Not to bothered about infantry Flame Throwers as they are actually killable quite easily.
I really would prefer painted figures only, even if only base-coated.
Let's start at 800pts for now with the option of playing 600pts or 1000pts (or whatever) - I would say though that at 650pts or fewer we should play on a 4ft x 4ft table.

Good stuff. Thanks for the game Phil.. it was fun , even though my few remaining troops had to watch the Yanks trotting off with the prize. Interesting scenario which throws up some angles.
I'll have a chat with Fred. I doubt he'll be keen to go it alone, but maybe if we time things so that we don't both play on the same night, I can always 'assist' him. If we get more names on this list, it may be irrelevant anyway?
When you say 'three rounds' .. do you mean..
(For example) Allied Team = A, B and C. Axis Team = I, II and III. Each player plays each player of the opposite team once. eg A plays I, II and III but never plays against B or C. Then total up scores for each side.
One advantage of this is that you never get Brits vs Yanks or German vs German games. (which is good in my book). Downside is you're more limited in who you play of course.
As far as 'special rules' go.. is it worth restricting single figure teams in half tracks? (Or is everyone sensible enough anyway? :-) )
As to Phil's comment about points.. maybe the points size of the armies isn't too vital as long as both sides agree before the game on a limit? Personally the learning curve is usually about all the special rules and support troops (like finding out that Americans can move and shoot without penalty!)

I'm happy to have a laid back, learn the rules type of game with Fred, if that helps? As you could see from Tuesday, I'm still very much getting to grips with the game.
I agree about restricting single figures in half tracks, its not really in the spirit of the game.
What sort of points structure do you have in mind? How do you judge big wins vs small wins?

Having assembled those British I traded with Phil, I have also assembled a M3 half track and managed to purchase another 20 2nd hand Bolt Action Brits on sprues and ordered a Vickers and a Mortar at 50% off from Black Tree. Oh and 17 Commandos!

I would indeed be interested However I'm in no position to participate right now... either on a painted miniatures front, or knowing the rules properly!

Nick, I'm sure your opponents woudl be accomodating re learning the rules. If you are free, Im planning on playing this Tuesday if you want to pop down and get a grib with the rules via the powers of observation?
I'm also sure someone will lend you a force if you ask nicely until yours is ready! What nation do you have unpainted?
On the gaming front, who wants/is free for a game this tuesday or is it a turn up and play?
Paul, you work fast, but you already know this!
